It’s that time of year we all have to choose what sports we want to do this year as our main one.
In my short survey it seems most of my friends feel Basketball is the clear winner.
Maybe it’s because we all live in LA and this is LAKERS TOWN (sorry Clippers… even though I love you too…).
Maybe it’s because every park I’ve ever gone to and every school has a basketball court and every break - guess what most kids are playing?
My random survey with my buddies Adrien, Amelia and Samy on what makes this sport so special and so much fun:
AMELIA:
I like that’s it’s hard so it’s a challenge
It’s hard to shoot but when you do make a basket it’s so satisfying.
It’s a really fun game to play .
I have a hoop at home and it’s fun to practice even by yourself.
ADRIEN:
I like how satisfying it is when the ball goes into the basket.
I like that it’s a game that you can play with all your friends.
I love it that practice makes my game Perfect.
I like learning the different strategies that make me a better player.
SAMMY:
I agree with Adrien and Amelia and want to add only that :
9. I like that it’s a very competitive sport.
10. It’s fun that it takes so much effort and it’s great exercise.
The interesting thing is that while we all live in LA - not all of us are Lakers fans.
Adrien is a Dallas Maverick fan…
I asked him why?
They have so many star players. I really Like Luka Doncic. He’s an all star that has a lot of abilities. He’s good at so many things - he’s good at passing, shooting, dunks, he’s fast .
For those who don’t know - I’m a Celtics fan… and this year it was easier to root for them because they’re the NBA Champs…
It feels like all the players are stars and instead of having one guy do everything - it’s a team effort to win and it seems we're the Lakers biggest rivals so it's fun rooting for them.
That said - LA has a lot of Lakers fans too - like my buddy Sammy.
I asked him why and he said - Because THEY ARE LA!
Who’s your favorite player on the Lakers, I ask him and he says - Lebron.
WHY?
Sammy: BECAUSE HE’S THE GOAT! (GREATEST OF ALL TIME)
That’s why it is so easy to be a Lakers fan. You don’t need a lot of explaining when you have THE GOAT on your team.

While Basketball isn’t my main sport - living in LA, I got to hoop and I recommend to all of you - make sure you can hoop too. Why? Cause you live in LA and it's part of what we do!
